I saw this video and fell in love with skateboarding again. I love the little subtleties in this short with the fading focus and flickering light. Its really beautiful and by the end you really get a sense of friendship they all share. I guess I should start filming shit again.

Esau Mwamwaya + Radioclit  are a duo that make up The Very Best, a band that takes music from Vampire Weekend to Michael Jackson and bring it on a ride through African sounds and culture. Esau born in Malawi sings in his native Chichewa tongue- a rarity to hear in most any type of music-at least for me. Anyways nuff said, this band is pretty fucking awesome. The album hasn’t dropped yet but you can get a taste from there mix tape here. Highly Recommended.

Elsewhere:I’m doing an interview and possibly take away show with folk singer John Stephens coming up so keep checking back here it’s sure to be golden.

Art Conspiracy had its 4th art auction at a warehouse in West Dallas on Saturday. Me and Aaron went to check it out. It was pretty rad with over 150 artist showing up to the event to paint and auction off there works for charity. Along with the art there were a few bands including Mount Righteous who were pretty fantastic, a couple dj’s none of which I stuck around for, tricycle races, and a photo shoot. I was pissing drunk so my memory is a bit hazy, but I have to say at least make sure you go to art con’s next event.

Head over to Banter Coffee House tonight for some tunes and to get in some study time. My buddy Aaron will be there to take some photos and such, so if you see a guy who looks like Bradley Cooper go say hi.

This isn’t Happiness is a collection of artistic photographs and video that helps us explore our past through both pop culture and the more obscure oddities of various time periods.  T.I.H. has the potential to be one of the most addicting websites ever  with 450+ different pages of basically ‘stuff to look at’ and while the title, “This isn’t Happiness” suggest doom and gloom it doesn’t ring true all the time with some images offering comfort and even some dark humor here and there; Don’t take my word for it check it out.
